Hotfoot from Liverpool the night before, Alan compered a major concert for the Soldiers’ Charity, the Army Benevolent Fund, on Saturday, October 22nd.
The evening was a major success in a packed venue, and organiser Major Eric Ingram MBE wrote “Alan did a really excellent job as compere – running the show superbly and some great humour too.”
On Friday, 21st October Alan spoke at the Liverpool 8 Round Table Charter Dinner and had a superb reception.
Chairman Andrew Roberts wrote -
“A huge thank you from me and all in Liverpool for delivering a cracking speech. The massive feedback is that you were brilliant and many of your great gags are now whizzing around the city! Thank you also for your generosity which meant that we raised a very good sum for the Claire House Hospice.
Alan was guest speaker at the very successful Harrogate Business Club Lunch on May13th and Chairman Howard wrote – “Your speech was pitched perfectly at our guests and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event. You certainly rank as one of our very best speakers. The feed back has been tremendous and everyone thoroughly enjoyed your very amusing speech. ”
Alan has had a record-breaking start to 2011, with over 50,000 miles of travelling on the speaking circuit. He began January with a speaking trip on P&O’s Ventura in the Caribbean, followed by a 12 day speaking tour in Australia in conjuction with England’s cricket games. He has just returned from another trip to Caribbean waters, speaking on Saga Pearl 2
Alan is now looking forward to a busy spell of speaking and presentation skills training in the UK, while planning further cruise trips and a return visit to speak and train in Australia later this year.

Alan was our guest speaker on the Mauritius to Cape Town leg of our world cruise and he was simply superb. He is a very experienced after-dinner speaker and how it showed. His combination of really good Powerpoint graphics and ready wit had our theatre audiences in gales of laughter. After his first appearance, word soon spread around the ship and his subsequent appearances were standing room only.
